Design Concept:
The building was designed in the form of the meeting of two masses, referring to the meeting of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in Qurna.
Project Description:
A government hospital with a capacity of 325 beds, its functional requirements are distributed as follows: Ground floor: The main entrance, the outpatient clinics department, the emergency department, the day surgery unit, in addition to the dialysis unit, the radiology and diagnostics department, as well as a cafeteria, a conference hall, and the administrative section. First floor: laboratories, administration, pharmacy, and part of the outpatient clinic department, in addition to the medical records unit and the endoscopy department. Second floor: surgical department, gynecology & obstetric, central sterilization unit, N.I.C.U. (incubators), and intensive care unit. Third floor: service activities located above the operations floor. The three typical floor of wards. Basement: workshops, housekeeping department, waste department, mortuary, laundry, main kitchen and stores.
